First monthly favourites of 2016!
Round of applause to myself for actually getting through this month. January is that month where we’re all poor, you’re thinking twice about what food you’re eating because we’re gonna have a babin’ body come July and did I mention poor?
But, seriously, January has actually been pretty kind to me. I put it down to sticking to my one resolution this year; to be the best version of me. I’ve stopped putting other’s happiness before my own and thought about what I want for a change, and so far it’s done me wonders. I feel lighter, happier and a lot more in control with some added sass. Not to mention a night away in Denmark definetely helped beat the January blues.
Remember back on January 4th and we all moaned about going back to work? How the Christmas break was mega long but no one was refreshed? Yeah. I suffered with that too. So, to combat that I scoured Ryanair for some cheap flights and booked a night away in Copenhagen for the Geek and I. Let me tell you guys, it was wonderful. Copenhagen is such a beautiful place and had such a fantastic, friendly vibe. We literally ate food and got drunk but it was lovely to just refresh as a couple, defeat the January blues and discover a new city. Booking spontaneous city breaks is going to be something I do again in January 2017!
Making a Murderer
The series everyone has been watching on Netflix. I’m not going to go into too much details because spoilers, but, if you are into your crime shows it’s worth a watch. It instantly grips you and you are left shouting at your TV in disbelief. I won’t lie to you I also watched it for the fitty of a news reporter too. It’s only 10 episodes – The Geek and I managed to get through it in 3 days so get on it!
I love to bake and I find it a really refreshing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I always find that baked goods make people really happy too, which then makes me happy. My lovely friend Sarah from Things Sarah Loves spoilt me rotton at Christmas by being my this beauty. I’ve never had anything from Hummingbird Bakery but my bestie who lives in London tells me it’s the one. I’ve been picking different recipes to try and it beats your average cupcake. If you’re really into your baking, I recommend it!
The Geek bought me this for one of my Christmas presents. Initially, I panicked when he said he didn’t get the quote I wanted on it. I thought, ‘It’s oh so instagram and it’s not got my blog name on it’, but as per, he did one better. Like, I was literally the heart eye emoji when I opened it. I’d had a crap time the past few months so he put on it a perfect quote to remind myself of my worth every time I look at it. I love it, and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite quotes! The planner itself is fabulous and perfect for every bloggers need. You can plan your content to the day, there’s room to keep track of your stats, room for notes, a to-do list. It’s just dreamy. Better yet, it fits in your handbag so you can write all the blog ideas!
