Spring is officially upon us!
March has been a more positive month. It’s helped by the fact that it’s no longer dark at 5pm and we’re actually getting a bit of sunshine out of office hours. March is one of my favourite months, it’s the month where we say goodbye to winter and open up the doors to Spring. It’s even better this month as bank holidays have come early which meant 2 cheeky days off work. Thank you world.
My eyes are in a better place. It’s been a little tough being stuck wearing glasses and still not being able to put mascara on but I’m slowly and surely getting through it. I’ve decided that once I’m in a better place and not dousing my eyes in eye drops every 20 minutes, I’m treating myself to a Naked Palette. Yes, it is roughly forty quid but I nearly picked it up in Copenhagen Airport and I can’t tell you how glad I am that I didn’t. Imagine owning the holy grail of eyeshadows and not being able to wear it. It makes my heart sad.
I’m determined to make April a healthier and positive month. Firstly, happiness comes in the shape of a mini hotel break* in Scarborough which I’ll be sharing on the blog. I’m really looking forward to it; I just need to relax and be pampered away from here. I’m also off to The Gin Festival• in Nottingham with one of my best friend who I haven’t seen since Christmas. I’ve got a busy April and can’t wait to get started!
So, what’s been in my top things this month?
You know when someone does something completely out of generosity and love for you and it really takes you back? Like, you’re a little bit dumbstruck that someone just wants to make you smile and make you sparkle again? Well, that happened to me. My Dad treated me to this beautiful, wonderful watch because I’d been down in the dumps about my eyes. Honestly, I couldn’t stop smiling once I opened it and I love the action more than the watch! But, the watch is beautiful. Since I had the strap altered, it’s not left my wrist. It’s received so many compliments and I’m just completely in love. Thanks Dad – you’re the best
At the beginning of the month, I went to Crufts with my Mum and Auntie. I’ve said one million times before but Crufts is my happy place. You never see an unhappy dog at Crufts; they truly love performing. I picked up so many bits and bobs there and it was lovely to just spend time with my Mum and Auntie with our other loves: dogs.
I picked this up whilst I was waiting for an eye test in town and it’s quickly become my every day work perfume. I love perfume as much as the next person but sometimes, I don’t like wasting Marc Jacob’s Daisy or Flowerbomb for a day sat at my desk. For only £7.99, Pure Dusk gives off a really lovely scent. It’s quite a strong, sweet yet it’s got quite an edgy smell to it. It lasts me the majority of my work day and I’ve received a lot of compliments off it; not bad for the bargain price tag!
6 Year Anniversary
The Geek and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on Sunday. We decided in true Blogger & The Geek fashion to celebrate by eating loads of pasta and drinking wine on Saturday night. Italian food is my absolute favourite and I could quite happily become a carbonara taste tester for a living. We went to our local Italian, Bravaccio’s, for some good food and had a wonderful time. We had a laugh and chowed down and went for drinks in our local pub afterwards. We’re extending our celebrations for our trip away to Yorkshire next month for more food and more wine. It’s a great start for another year together!
I took the plunge and I had my hair cut. I’ve been growing my hair for what seems forever, and it was all dead and scraggly. It got to the stage where no amount of coconut oil or deep conditioner was ever gonna fix it. So, I had the chop. It feels fabulous and I love it. It takes no time at all to style it, it’s got some shape back and I feel a lot lighter. The one downside is that it does require a bit more washing so I’m off to stock up on a lot more dry shampoo to get through the working week.
I already can’t wait to show my April favourites with you. It’s going to be such a lovely month with loads going on. I’m always happier when I have things to do as I tend to get restless sat at home. So, enjoy April everyone! I sure am!
