I genuinely can’t believe it’s June. Seriously, May has flown by and now I’m panicking realising I’ve only got one present for The Geek’s birthday. Um.. someone get me to a shopping centre stat.
I love May as a month. The weather is generally lovely, it’s never usually a hectic month in my household and I find it’s the month where I’ll start planning for summer. We’ve already started putting plans in motion for summer; spending some time in Kent with our friendship group for the Broadstairs Folk Week festival, a weekend away in Manchester for a foodie adventure, a night away in Shrewsbury for more food and more beer. Sometimes, it’s not all about summer holidays but seeing the people we love as and when we can. But, we have got a cheeky trip to Berlin planned for my birthday at the end of October which I’m already so excited for. So if you have any recommendations for Germany please hit a girl up.
When I initially started thinking about my May favourites, I wasn’t 100% sure I could fill it. My April favourites were pants as I wrote it quickly after my eye op, so I wanted to whack out some good content for this one. As I started thinking, May was a good month! Here are my faves:
Bruce Springsteen Live
The Geek and I booked tickets to go and see The Boss in Manchester for this month, we packed up the car and made our way to the Etihad Stadium. It was such an amazing night. It was throwing it down all through the gig but I’ve never been to a gig where the main act plays from 7pm – 10:30pm without a break. Excuse my ridiculous oversized beanie hat in the photo but it was the only hat I had where it covers ALL of my hair. I had to keep all of my hair covered so I didn’t look like a lion. But, Bruce was phenominal and it was great catching up with friends, drinking way too much expensive cider and having a dance and a laugh. My favourite song he played was definetely The Rising – so so good!
I received this in a blogger goodie bag and with my primer running out, I thought I would give this a whirl. It’s one of my favourite skinscare products now acting as a moisturiser, primer and sunscreen all in one. I’m a very pale soul so I need all the protection I can get on my face, especially recently as I spend my weekends out and about with Rufus. It doesn’t leave my face all oily like sunscreen does, it keeps my face products in place and has cleared up my skin. I absolutely love it!
Some weekends all you need is your girls, a life time supply of cheese and crap chick flicks. Following my eye surgery, my two best friends travelled to come and spend the weekend with Rufus and I. It consisted of cheese, wine, dog walks, laughs and life chats and it was so so good for my soul. Sometimes, it’s just nice to stay inside and catch up rather than rushing around having to go clubbing. It was the perfect weekend with my perfect girls!
I’ve got a previous post on this where you can read all about the benefits I’ve found of feeding Rufus more fish but I think they deserve a mention in my favourites too! It’s great to see Rufus really enjoy all the treats as fish is his favourite. I honestly do think he’s half cat at times as I’ve never seen a dog love fish as much as him. But it’s greatly improved the condition of his coat and I feel like a top dog owner feeding him treats that are good for him. Seriously, any dog owner they are super affordable and do the world of good for your hounds. Get on it!
I’ve also got a little giveaway live on my Twitter to win a copy of The Art of Being Normal and a few other treats! If you want to enter, have a look at my Twitter account here!
