I’ll start with an apology; sorry for the super crappy title but it’s exactly what it says it is.
For the past 2 months or so I’ve been trying to reassess my make up look. Since my eyes can no longer be the main feature I define with my every day make up I’ve had to try something new. I’ve had to completely stop wearing eyeliner on an every day basis and now only wear mascara on my eyes, because my eyes either run or my eyes become unbelievably scratchy. I only tend to wear eyeliner now if it’s a special occasion. So with all this in mind, I’ve moved my focus onto my skin, lips, brows and nails.
With the help of the #BloggerTikiParty goody bag which I recieved back in July I’ve found some new firm favourites. I’ve also picked up a few new products from raiding Boots and reading blogs. My new look has taken some getting use too and I do suffer with eyeliner envy every now and again but, I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying that I can mix and match my lipsticks and claim coffee cups with a lipstick stain.
I love a good BB cream. Having pretty good skin and some dodgy eyes, I don’t wear foundation or heavy make up to work so BB cream add some brightness and happiness into my skin. Recently, I attended the #bloggertikiparty and Heaven BB cream was in my bag in my exact shade. Although for 30ml it costs £37, it’s moistorising, lasts all day and has SPF protection in it. It seems to get rid of all the blemishes and imperfections on my face and makes everything happy and sparkly for the working week. One of the biggest things for me is that it isn’t as heavy as foundation so on really bad eye days when I wear this, I don’t feel as if I’m half ‘done up’.
Hold the phone, another blogger raving on about NYX. I’m sorrynotsorrry but I’m completely on the NYX bandwagon and it’s the best thing to come to Boots since they released the Advantage Card. I’ve only bought two shades so far and I’m completely in love. I bought Copenhagen, a gorgeous berry colour which is going to be perfect for Autumn/Winter, and Ibiza. Ibiza is my favourite at the moment – a beautiful orange/pink shade that adds a touch of summer to any make up look. NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are the dream for the price. For one, they stay on your lips, they are moistouring and super soft for a matte lipsticks and affordable at only £5.50 a pop. Everytime I go into Boots I have to stop myself buying more.
Hands up if you also received your free sample of this? Benefit is my go to on the more premium make up stance so I was pretty excited when this was on the doorstep. Although it takes a little bit more precision than Gimme Brow, I am finding it super quick to use and shape my brows when I’m about to head off to work. It’s also bought me onto the pencil hope as usually I used to use powder. I’ll be sad when it runs out!
I picked up a free sample of this in Glamour Magazine a few months ago. I thought it\d be the best way to trial is out as I really had no idea what I was expecting from it. I love it for really lazy days where I only have 5 minutes to sort out my face. You literally just brush the product through your brows an it clings onto the hair. It’s perfect just to deepen your brows but if you had very sparse brows, I think it would take a while to build them up.
I am in love with these nail wraps which came in my #BloggerTikiParty goody bag! I tried them before I went down to Kent and I’m super glad I did as they look fabulous, especially when I was unknowingly getting engaged! For someone who is crap at caring for their nails and even putting nail varnish on, I found them super easy to apply. It took me about 30 minutes to apply them, with cutting them to size and sticking them on. My nails lasted around a week but that included camping for 5 days, hot weather and beaches. Dinki Belle state they last around 2 weeks, which I can definetely see them doing so in normal day to day life. I’m definetely ordering a new set for my holiday in September!
