The best way to keep a positive mind is the remember the positive and happy things that are happening to you. In my bid to be the sparklier, sassier and best version of myself I wanted the document 5 things that make me happy in a month. Whether it’s experiences, an item or something that I’ve overcome. I want it all documented.
January has been a funny month. I spent most of my time off work still recovering with my arm but I’m happy to report I’ve been back at work for over a week and my arm is feeling pretty good. It still has it’ aches and pain but it’s improving.
So, what’s made me happy this month?
1. MY ARM GETTING BETTER AND STRONGER
Most of December and January was me being at home waiting for my arm to be better. Thankfully, I’m pretty much back to my full health and it’s made me super happy. I’m back at work, I’m back blogging, I can drive again and I’ve got my independence back. There’s still some things I can’t do, like lifting objects that are a little weighty and straightening my hair takes forever. But, I’m on the up.
2. SLIMMING WORLD
I have joined slimming world again this month in hope to get to a weight and size I’m happy with for our wedding next year. I’ve joined a group and weigh in day is every Tuesday. When I first started I struggled a little because I was at home and found that I struggled to eat all the food. But now being back at work, I’m eating more than I ever have done before and the weight is slowly coming off.
3. LAZY DAYS
I think I’ve become the master of lazy days for the past month. January is always a month where money is tight and I’m trying to save as much money as I possibly can for our wedding. It means that we are having to stay in more and it’s suited me for the past month. I’m especially loving lazy days spent watching films, and I’ve recently restarted How I Met Your Mother again. If anyone has any suggestions for cheap date nights, hit a girl up!
4. BOARD GAMES NIGHT
In that weird week between Christmas and New Year I hosted our first board games night. It went that well we hosted another one in January. It’s one of those nights where we order all the pizza and drink all the booze. It’s also a great way to catch up with friends and make new memories. I did a post about the type of board games we play here!
5. FOYLES BLOGGER BREAKFAST IN BIRMINGHAM
I attended a Blogger Breakfast as Foyles at the end of January as my first event of the year and it was fabulous. I’m trying to get back into reading and I’m happy to say I’ve spent the last week going to bed with a lemon and ginger tea and a book in hand. Foyles are hosting a blogger breakfast each month. I got to catch up with some friends, make new friends and there’s even a Bloggers Pick of Behind Closed Doors that I wrote in their shop! If you want to sign up and know more about their events, you can have a look here.
Roll on February! I’m looking forward to what you’ve got to bring!
