Since I have started wedding planning I have become so much more aware of the flowers around me, especially with Spring. We’re having an end of March wedding and I want the venue covered in all the spring flowers; daffodils, pansies, tulips, forget-me-not and of course, bluebells!
I love following my favourite dog blogs and seeing what my favourite internet pooches are up to on Instagram. a lot of our friends are professional photographers and were offering photos with bluebells. I decided to get outside with Rufus on Good Friday and try snapping our own shots in the forest of blue!
We headed to our favourite local walk, Northycote Farm, in hope of finding some. A lot of National Trust sights offer bluebell walks but we only had a limited time and you aren’t guaranteed to be allowed to let your pooch off their lead. Luckily, within 5 minutes of walking we found the carpet of bluebells in the forest area.
The forest was covered in them! Rufus had a wonderful time running around and playing fetch in the long grass. Being a relatively small dog, he loves flowers like bluebells as he can just run and prance about in them.
We finished off our walk by having a swim in the streams. Since meeting up with Alfie, Rufus adores water and it’s quick become his favourite thing about walks. Before he was a bit cautious of streams and no matter how much praise or how many balls I threw in water he wouldn’t go after them for love or money but jealously is a funny thing! After 5 minutes of me playing fetch with Alfie in a stream in Sutton Park; Rufus was straight in the water and he’s never looked back. If any of our dog blog friends have a recommendation of a drying coat for Rufus, hook me up!
