Oh, hi pals. How the bloody how are you?
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down, caught up and wrote down a blog post on what’s going on in my life. I feel like I haven’t done a sit down post in a while.
So, what’s been going on?
I’m someone who never does anything by half. I usually approach most things at 100%, burn out quickly. I then spend approximately 2 days recovering before doing the whole cycle again. I’ll never learn and to be honest, I absolutely love living my life in the fast lane. So, it made perfect sense in my head to buy a house just only 3 months after getting married.
We moved into our first home just over a month ago and I’m absolutely in love with it. We’ve spent the past 4 years renting a little 2 bed house and we’ve just bought a 3 bed semi in our favourite little village. We’re in walking distance to our favourite pubs, in a nice quiet little estate and it’s a house that we can actually make our own.
So, after 2 months of losing my temper at our solicitor most days, we can finally start the fun part; making it our own! We’re starting on the living room and transforming it into my basic girl grey palace. So far, we’ve painted one wall but soon enough we’ll have our wooden floors in and finally replace all our old furniture. We even acknowledged our wedding finally happened by getting a few of our wedding photos up. Cheerz sent me a canvas of one my favourite wedding photos, and I love seeing it every day. All these little touches are really making our house a home. What I’m loving the most is that we are finally doing everything in our own time. The past 18 months we’ve been tied to deadlines set by wedding planners and suppliers or solicitors and surveyors. We can take life a little bit slower and I’m very thankful for it.
We spent the end of July in Broadstairs for our annual friends hang-out. It was earlier than planned this year but it came at the perfect time; we had a few days to relax in the glorious UK heatwave with a hot tub, drink plenty of cider and enjoy being around some of my favourite people whilst making more memories.
Though the blog has been quiet for the past few months, Rufus, Mr T and I were featured in the paper at the end of July! We were in the Sunday People talking about dogs at weddings. It’s another photo I can’t wait to get in the house of us! What’s happening with the blog? I’m going to keep plodding a long and see how I feel; I couldn’t manage moving house/weddings on top of a full time job and a part time hustle. It became too much, and I never had the chance to fully recharge. I’m consciously trying to take more time for myself and live life a tiny bit slower. I love life in the fast lane, but after 2 years of living at 100mph, it’s time to drop the gas to 80mph. I’m hoping with a less busy life; my love and passion for this little space on the internet will grow again.
In short, bare with me friends. I’m slowly rebooting and getting back into it. Slowly but surely.
