Can I get a hell yeah for having 10 days off at Christmas?
These have been the most awaited days off in our household. It’s been a stressful month with both of us feeling down in the dumps at Christmas and trying to push through the last few weeks at work. But, FRIDAY CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH. I honestly cannot wait to finish work on Friday, whack on my out of office and spend some time drinking wine with family and friends.
But come Boxing Day, I always get cabin fever. I always feel as if I spend Christmas going between both of our families, trying to see everyone yet still needing to get some relaxation time in. And then there’s the days where I do nothing, (usually around the 28th-30th) and feel guilty about it. And then I’m aware I’m wasting my annual leave even though the office isn’t open
And then you eat. A lot. Going between 2 families means that every day is pretty much a buffet tea. Though I’m the queen of demolishing a buffet, I’m well aware I need to shift some timber to go wedding dress shopping next year. But. IT’S CHRISTMAS ETC. We need to open another bottle of red wine and oh look, here comes the cheeseboard.
It’s a confusing time of year. And to be honest, you do whatever suits you boo. I thought I’d whack together a list of the things you may want to do. Some stuff involves sitting on the sofa and festering away and others include getting dressed.
