Where the hell has September gone?
Like, seriously, it doesn’t seem five minutes ago I was typing up my favourite things in August. Now, I’m doing it for September and it’s a little weird. The end of September does mean that it’s finally October. I bloody love October. It’s my birthday month (29th FYI guys), I’m going to the National Wedding Show* and The Cake and Bake Show. I’m off to hang with my best friend and fellow blogger, Northerner Down South where we’re going to see Wicked and eat loads of carbs. Best of all, it’s soon to be Halloween and I can stomp about in chunky boots for the next 3 months. Winner.
So what have I been up to in September? Firstly, I attended my first ever blogging event! I attended the West Midlands Blogger Meet which you can read about here. I attended Hilarys Blinds Crafternoon weekend in Manchester with Joe Blog, that post will be coming up in the week! Rufus had his plums off which made me super emotional and needy on the day. I literally spent the day clock watching and waiting for 3pm so I could go and collect him. I dread if he ever has a serious operation as I wouldn’t be able to control myself. I’d be that person in Casualty who makes a massive scene, except it’ll be more embarrassing as it’s in a vets. The Geek & I have also really, really got into pub quizzing. I organised for a few of my work colleagues to meet up on a Monday night and take part in a pub quiz. It’s amazing how many people love it and actually how much we learn each week.
So, my total favourites on the month? Here we go.
I jumped on the bandwagon and I’m sure you’ve seen these on everyone’s Instagram photos. These are a total steal. I’ve bought them as decorative candles only as I really don’t want to burn them as they are that pretty. I’ve got them on my chest of drawers in my bedroom – ready for any blog photo opportunity. The best thing about these is that they are only two quid each!
West Midlands Blogger Meet
I went to my first blogging meet up this month. I met up with some fabulous people where we ate cake and chatted all things blog. You can read about the full event here. In short, I met so many lovely people and it was great to put faces to blogs. We’re hopefully arranging a little meet up in November for Birmingham’s Christmas markets and cocktails. Pretty Lovely Bloggers are holding a Christmas event too. If it’s going to be anything like the West Midlands Blogger Meet Up, it’s going to be amazing.
This lipstick has changed my life and I love it. Tore from A Tiny Mew introduced it to my life and I finally managed to pick it up in my local Superdrug. I know it’s all about autumnal berry lips at the moment but I don’t think you can beat a nude lip. Everyone suits a nude lip and for a quid, this is a steal. Not to mention, it’s so similar to MAC Velvet Teddy without the crazy price tag.
One of the best things about having a hound is the amount of fresh air you get. If you caught my Dog Walking Wish List post you’ll know about my dilemma with my dog walking wardrobe. Safe to say, I’m slowly building it as autumn walks are becoming more and more of a thing. On a dry autumn day, it’s lovely just to get in the car and drive somewhere where we can take Rufus on a walk. It’s one of the highlights of my day taking Rufus out with the Geek because it gives us a chance to catch up on our days, discuss life and just be away from the world for a little bit. It’s even better after the walk where we drink coffee and eat cake.
I feel September was the month where I really cemented my friendship with my blogging friends. I’ve spent the last few weeks speaking to Ren and Sarah non stop and y’know what? I really love it. I’ve really gotten to know these 2 girls and I love catching up with them. I really can’t wait to catch up with other blogging friends. I’m going to start making more time to get to know more pals in October. So, if you want a friend guys I’m your gal.
What have you guys been loving this month? Give me some recommendations!
