I’m all for trying new beauty products and love finding new hidden gems, but, I’ll always have some staples when it comes to certain things. I feel that I’ve spent a while trying to find THE product for certain thing. Y’know when it just kinda works and why fix something when it’s not broken, eh?
These are all reasonably well priced and products I’ve been using for a good while or noticed a real difference.
This is my holy grail and I’m never without a tub. It’s super cheap but the best make up remover/night cream and winter moisturiser I’ve ever found. I’m glad we’re getting to colder months as I can slather my face in this again. It’s so multi purpose, it’s incredible. I use it to take my make up off with a bit of cotton wool and I use it as a night cream. If I’m having a particular bad skin day, I’ll also use it as a face mask. Honestly, it’s less than £4 a pot so it’s worth it even if you don’t agree with it.
When I was going travelling in America, I needed something to tame my hair as I’d have limited access to straighteners and a hair dryer. I popped into Lush and the lady told me to buy this pot of magic. 2 years later and I’m never without it. If you’ve got really thick, curly and frizzy hair – this is the product for you. After I’ve towelled dried my hair, I run a tiny bit through the ends of my hair. It’s super rich and full of avocado butter and coconut oil so it smells amazing and the smell stays in your hair for days. Oh and boys, it’s fabulous for beards as well!
Another hair related one for myself but it’s also very multi purpose. I got into coconut oil after receiving a sample from the Pretty Lovely Blogger’s goody bag. It was a product I kept meaning to try but never got round to buying it. Coconut oil, again, is game changer for us frizzy haired gals. Although once applied you look like someone has tipped a chip pan on you; once washed out and styled, my hair has lost half it’s frizz. I apply it on my hair 30 minutes before I’m going to wash it covering the roots and ends and wash it out thoroughly. I’ve also had many people say that my hair has grown a lot in the past few weeks too which I’m putting down to this!
For someone who has pretty good skin, I can get terrible dark eyes. With the help of Astral and face masks, they are getting better but I still don’t look great first thing. You know when people say to you, ‘Oh you look tired?’, I get that every single day and it’s even worse when I am actually tired. When I have to be in work for 8am I have no time for a full face of foundation to brighten up my complexion, because, let’s face it, I love my sleep. This is my go to concealer because it does exactly what it says. It makes me look like I’m awake before my first cuppa in the morning and really brightens up my eyes. Ever since I’ve started using this I feel a bit more put together and more alive first thing in the morning.
Do you use any of these products or have any recommendations on some I should try? Which products are your staples?
