We’re well and truly into the colder months as January is fading away. With the colder weather comes the storm of people getting ill and the rest of us desperately trying to avoid their germs. It’s crazy how many people have walked into the office in the past few weeks full of flu and spluttering everywhere. I just wanna grab them and say, WILL YOU PLEASE GO HOME AND LIE ON YOUR SOFA WITH A BOWL OF SOUP. KIND REGARDS, THE WHOLE COMPANY.
I’m pretty lucky that I don’t get ill that often. My immune system is A-OK thanks to my supply of hand gel and the fact I love vegetables. My boyfriend, however, is a different story. You only need to mention the word poorly and he’s full of a cold and dying on the sofa. When he’s ill, he also gets coldsores which any sufferer knows are horrible. It results in no kisses for me and having to clean all the towels, bed sheets and everything he touches, ew.
When I attended the Pretty Lovely Bloggers event in November a Swedish Devirex were showing their new product Lipivir*, who’s product prevents cold sores. I literally ran over to their section to grab a tube as it’s the answer I’d been looking for. No more washing towels, no more washing bed sheets the moment one arrives and no more living in fear that I would catch it. It was like someone presented me with the answer to life and would solve all my problems.
Soon enough The Geek caught man flu and he felt the tingling sensation of a cold sore appearing. Cold sores only appear for him when he feels really run down. He started applying Lipvir as soon as his lip was slightly raised and honestly, the results were amazing. By the next day the coldsore was already disappearing and this was even before it had reached it’s full potential. I couldn’t believe it as I’ve never known anything to get rid of so quickly.
Luckily I don’t get cold sores and cannot fully try the product but I have swatched it on my hand. It’s a clear liquid with a hint of lemon. Though I’m a citrus loving girl, I’m not the biggest fan of the scent. It’s not quite natural and fresh for me. I popped it on my lips and it was very quick to soak in and didn’t leave any nasty residue. I could have easily put on my lipstick a few minutes afterwards.
How does it work though? It focuses on the blistering and the overall appearance of the cold sore rather than the actual virus that causes them. It contains no pharmaceutical ingredients, no preservatives and it contains no animal origins. It’s basically the product all cold sore sufferers have been waiting for.
If you suffer from them on a regular basis, pop it on before you put your lipstick on and you’re sorted! It costs £14.99 for the tube but believe me, it lasts and works miracles!
