One of my favourite local beauty brands Skin Sincere were promoting their #2LChallenge where you very simply have to drink 2 litres of water a day and see if you can notice the benefits to your skin. Skin Sincere promote top-notch skin care and are one of my favourite brands. All their products are natural, cruelty free and have really agreed with my skin. So, I thought why not and gave it a go!
The top photo was me Monday morning before going to work and the bottom is me at 3:30am on Sunday morning on a few hours sleep before going to Copenhagen! My skin is a lot fresher and brighter!
I found it quite easy to drink 2 litres of water a day whilst I was at work. I usually have a pint of water at my desk and I’m constantly drinking from it. It helps as my office do provide water coolers so the water is really refreshing. However, when I worked from home on Tuesday, I struggled. The water wasn’t as fresh and because I was pottering around the house as well as working, I didn’t drink as much and it felt more of a challenge to drink the 2 litres. The rest of the week was a breeze though!
The biggest thing I noticed and struggled with was the come down from caffeine. I didn’t really realise how much I drank and I really hated with how my body reacted when it didn’t have any. I had a constant headache on Monday and Tuesday which I couldn’t shake off but by Wednesday, I was fine. I didn’t feel tired and I could miss the tea round at work! I didn’t miss having a hot drink at all, which is strange seeing as we’re in the middle of January. I’m now making a conscious effort to not drink any caffeine as I hated the headaches so much. The Geek has even stopped drinking caffeine after midday to try and feel the benefits. We have even purchased some decaf tea!
By Sunday morning my skin was so much brighter. I’ve said a million times that I’m a lucky girl with good skin but I do struggle with bags under my eyes. It’s my real giveaway for being super tired. But as the days rolled on, my skin started to look brighter and clearer. It just seemed to have a healthier glow around it. I was also sleeping so much better and was actually getting up before my alarm (total first).
It’s been a real learning curve learning about my skin and how water is important. I didn’t realise how dehydrated I was and thought I was quite good at drinking water. Turns out I wasn’t that good and I’ve really felt the benefits this week. I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to feel that bit healthier and fresher in themselves!
