As far as being a Wolverhampton blogger goes, I’m really late to the party on reviewing The Luscious Dessert Lounge. Like, the party poppers have already gone off and everyone’s already nursing a hangover late. So, yeah, sorry about that.
After working from home for a week and not getting out of my Harry Potter tracksuit bottoms, it was safe to say I was feeling a little low and fed up. The Geek and I went on a cheeky date night to lift my spirits and to give me an excuse to put some clothes and make up on. It’s amazing how feeling a bit fresher and more human lifts your spirits. We decided to go out for a sweet treat to one of Wolverhampton’s most talked destination, The Luscious Dessert Lounge.
The Luscious Dessert Lounge is exactly what it says on the tin. It sells nothing but sweet treats; waffles, crepes, gelato, hot cookie dough, ice cream sundaes and anything that you can think of. It’s a sweet tooth person’s idea of heaven, although I’m a savoury crisp monster at heart, I loved this place.
The decor is clean, comfortable, light and is perfect for a date night setting. We went at around 8pm at night and easily got a table. As the Luscious Dessert Lounge is hidden in town, it was quiet. The staff were extremely polite and very happy to help us. Everything you want!
I decided to have a waffle. It was a homemade light, fluffy waffle covered in Belgian chocolate sauce topped with fresh strawberries It was served with ice cream, a side of cream and their trademark wafer. It was delicious; the waffle melted in your mouth and the portions were huge. It was well worth the reasonable price.
The Geek went for one of their homemade crepes. A huge crepe stuffed with peanut butter and pieces of banana, drizzled in chocolate sauce. Served with ice cream, whipped cream on the side and their trademark wafer. My boyfriend LOVES pancakes and crepes so his eyes lit up and it didn’t stay around on the plate long. At one point, he was struggling until I gave him some Bruce Bogtrotter encouragement.
The Luscious Dessert Lounge is well worth a trip for anyone who loves a dessert. It’s yet another food establishment that’s putting Wolverhampton on the map and making it a much more independent and pleasant place to come. What’s even better is that you can grab your sweet treats between 11am – 11pm every night. If you don’t fancy hanging around they even do takeout – perfect!
