It’s a Wednesday evening and I’ve finally started watching Sons of Anarchy. So far, I’m digging it – it’s a little bit dark and twisty and feels like something I can happily waste from now until December watching. It’s also freezing and I’m wrapped up in approximately 3 blankets and a dog to keep warm, as well with the laptop heat.
I realised I hadn’t really done a proper update on here recently. For the past few weeks, life has been a bit hectic and mental but in a strangely refreshing away. it’s a good kind of busy: a busy that is keeping me focused and pushing me towards the best version of me.
Wedding planning is in full swing with pretty much every single weekend and waking moment being taken up with something to do with the wedding. It’s just over 100 days until our wedding day and it couldn’t come quick enough. I’m trying to focus on doing more wedding posts but I’m struggling with getting that balance of trying to blog about it, for the world to see, and wanting to keep certain things under wraps. Its a hard act and if anyone has any advice, please hook a girl up.
I’ve only got a few of the big things on my list left to do: mostly being my wedding dress, my bridesmaids and the wedding rings. Wedding dress shopping is commencing this week and everything else to follow. We booked a cheeky few nights away straight after our wedding with Pets Pyjamas; obviously needing to take our little hound with us. Then it’s a case of trying to book our actual honeymoon – I’ll be counting down the days to that!
One of my biggest goals of 2017 was to get a new job and it was the one I was desperate to achieve. I was restless, bored and down right miserable in my last job and so far, I think I’ve found the perfect balance for the time being. I’m on week 5 and so far every day is challenging, fulfilling and it seems that it’ll keep pushing me in that direction too.
My biggest thing is that it;s so, so refreshing to feel appreciated and supported within this role, which was my biggest gripe in my last one. I’m being pushed the right way with a great team behind me. I’m learning something I never quite considered before but it’s something that is keeping me on my toes. It’s wonderful to no longer have Sunday blues or having to force myself to get dressed to go to work in the morning. The biggest thing is that I’m no longer bringing my bad moods home. Long may this feeling continue.
Social wise, I’m pretty happy and seem to be one of those gals really living my best life. Weekends seem to be full of adventures with friends, Rufus or having a day off hiding at home. I’ve reconnected with friends, which I feel I’ve been able to do now my whole work issues have seemed to have fallen away. I’ve been spending evenings either working or watching multiple things on Netflix. If you’re after a bit of trash, I’m fully loving series 2 of Riverdale and Dynasty. Strange Things 2 and Big Mouth were 2 greats shows to binge to and let your life escape you whilst you fester on the sofa. 2 days well spent!
I’m off to Harry Potter World towards the end of the month, which was a birthday present from The Geek. I’m super excited as there are so many added features since our trip 4 years ago, and I can’t wait to raid the gift shop for all the Ravenclaw things. It’s also going to be a lovely release from everything too.
So, let’s roll on the next few weeks of 2017 before we enter 2018 which really will be a life changing year in our little household!
